ASEM on Sustainable Creative Cities
Christina Stadlbauer participates in Sustainable Creative Cities, a workshop on the role of the arts in globalised urban context.
"Invited experts will address the roles of artists and creative workers in the evolution of globalised cities across Asia and Europe, assessing how an “artistic mode of knowing” can contribute to a transition from creative cities to sustainable creative cities. The aim is to facilitate the emergence of local urban processes of social change in partnerships between artists, cultural practitioners and communities, as opposed to top-down urban planning."

Maja Kuzmanovic facilitates a sandbox-style workshop with technologists, scientists & artists at the NEM summit.
YGL & New Champions
Maja Kuzmanovic & Nik Gaffney will participate at meeting of Young Global Leaders (YGL) & the the Annual Meeting of the New Champions on "Driving Growth through Sustainability". Maja is involved in the design of the opening session of the YGL meeting, leads a discussion on the topic of Open Innovation: Accelerating Sustainable Growth and moderates a session on the role of art in Asian society.

Farming the Cities
CITIES Foundation together with the Municipality of Amsterdam, is co-organizing an exhibition/workshop about Urban Agriculture. This event will take place during the Week of Sustainability, a 9 days program made by the city of Amsterdam to support and promote sustainable projects in the city.
CITIES, a platform for urban research based in Amsterdam, is currently researching and promoting alternative approaches for the development of temporary urban agriculture practice. The exhibition is part of the 'Farming the Cities' project.

Kanal Labs: Triangulated
Three Brussels art labs invite you in Koolmijnenkaai 30-34. OKNO opens their rooftop garden and Open Greens-project to all. You can taste urban honey and drinks made of plants from the garden. You can nibble on FoAM's detoxifying treats to help you fight urban afflictions, spiced up with plants from the Kanal area. Q-O2 invites the sound artist Pierre Berthet for a concert using waterdrops as an instrument.
FoAM @ E-Culture Fair
FoAM is present as one of four Belgian artistic laboratories at the E-Culture Fair in Dortmund.
KAAP
A wartime food storage prepared from local wild plants is presented by Wietske Maas at the fortress Ruigenhoek in the Netherlands. FoAM Amsterdam assisted with the map showing edible plant locations. Claud Biemans who helped with plant spotting, will give several plant excursions on the opening Sunday.

Corrupted C#n#m#
Corrupted C#n#m# is Angelo Vermeulen's new solo exhibition in the US after his Biomodd [ATH1] project at the Aesthetic Technologies Lab in Athens, Ohio in 2007. Corrupted C#n#m# is an experimental cinema project that explores the physicality of digital media, and draws upon the phenomena of data corruption and data forensics. It's an artistic inquiry into the notion of the material 'body’ in both the digital and the biological realm. Video images stored on different types of digital media are manipulated and disrupted through various biological processes.
The Future of the Lab
"The Future of the Lab will provide opportunities for discussion and engagement with a diverse range of professionals on three layers: expert meetings for invited international guests from art and technology labs across Europe and beyond, as well as a number of Dutch labs; an afternoon bringing in local, regional and national participants from a diversity of sectors; and a programme for the general public on Monday, November 30.

A supper for pathologic appetites will be served 19:00h on 18 October 2009 in the W.G kunst, a former sanatorium as part of the Wilhelmina Gasthuis hospital complex, Amsterdam.
