Europalia: Ancestors & Rituals

Opening ceremony with FoAM bxl (Maja Kuzmanovic, Stevie Wishart, Faust De Wel and Rasa Alksnyte) and Beyond the Spoken (Barbara Raes) at the vernissage of the exhibition Ancestors and Rituals. Video of the ceremony and other material and sonic traces are exhibited in (T)here and Now, the final space of the exhibition parcours.

As part of the exhibition, Barbara Raes hosts a series of workshops and conversations questioning the place of traditions and rituals in both Indonesian and European contemporary societies. In November and December Rasa Alksnyte is invited to co-host several workshops for children on mini-rituals for everyday life.
