Dark Ecology

Nik Gaffney and Cocky Eek are co-travellers at the Dark Ecology expedition to the border zone of Norway and Russia around the Arctic Circle as part of an art, research and commissioning programme. The dark ecology theme is used as the starting point for research and new artworks that will be presented in a public programme – in 2014, 2015 and 2016 – that includes lectures, presentations and concerts, as well as workshops and masterclasses. The Dark Ecology project will be documented online and offer reflection through interviews, travel reports, videos, photos and audio recordings.
