The Summit of Practical Utopias

The Summit is a four-day utopian retreat that will take the form of a site-specific reality game replacing the conventional conference format. We will be introducing game mechanics to facilitate thought exchange and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Maja Kuzmanovic and Nik Gaffney are two of 40 participants, representing a wide cross- section of contemporary utopian practices. We are inviting individuals, groups, online and offline communities, think-tanks and networks working on the most promising, world-changing practices and agendas. They are united by a desire to change the current system of society by developing alternative proposals that outline the first practical steps towards long- term processes of change.

The goal of the Summit is to provide a platform, a serious yet utterly playful system for utopian advocacy and exchange, generating an inspiring, quixotic and lasting experience for all participants.
