Wilderness Machines workshop at Transmediale
FoAM hosts a Wilderness Machines workshop during Transmediale 2017:
Context:
Our extended technological bodies have taken root in the wild. Machines have been in our landscapes at least since the early 13th century and have come to dominate them more recently. A word that comes to mind is brutality. Machine Wilderness asks what our technologies would look like if they aimed for empathy. What kind of technologies do our landscapes suggest? How do you design for those levels of complexity? A machine that drives environmental enrichment?
Aims:
In this workshop we start from the daily life a local animal. We'll explore a local mixed green zone of Berlin and try to out-line a wilderness machine based the phenology of indigenous organisms.
