Foam is a thick mass of bubbles, formed either by rapid agitation, or slow fermentation of gasses, liquids, or solids. FoAM is a similarly thick mass of bubbles, where the bubbles are formed by individuals, collectives, organisations and communities.

The 'substance' that connects all 'bubbles' at FoAM is our motto - "grow your own worlds". This sentence can expand to describe the whole FoAM universe: it is a world populated by diverse life-forms, that grow, evolve and decay; a world that is cultivated, constructed and experienced by the inhabitants themselves; the inhabitants who believe in the value of starting 'small and slow' and 'growing your own', knowing that by exchanging their seeds of change with others, our realities could grow to become more adaptive, sustaining and resilient.
